Pete Richie, a longtime Robbinsdale volunteer, was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) in September 2025.
A Robbinsdale native, Pete’s energy, historical knowledge, and love of writing helped drive the restoration of Graeser Park. Thanks to people like him, it is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
To honor his contributions, Restore Lilac Way encourages donations to Pete’s GoFundMe as he and Lisa navigate this challenging journey.
Pete literally wrote the book on Robbinsdale.
During his 15 years of volunteering with the Robbinsdale Historical Society, Pete authored Images of America: Robbinsdale. This richly detailed book tells the city’s story, from real estate developer Andrew B. Robbins to today.
As an RHS board member and President, he played a vital role in Graeser Park’s restoration. HIs contributions continue through the RHS website, Facebook group, and his incredible Nokohaha history blog.
Pete has a heart of gold.
He is endlessly generous with his time. I am deeply grateful that Graeser Park brought him into my life. Any contribution to help with the ongoing costs of living with a progressive illness is truly appreciated.
Thank you for supporting one of our Lilac Way community members and for helping Pete, Lisa, and their family.
